Boundaries| Stress Buster Technique | Part 3-5

Hi, I’m MaryAiñe Curtis and I have this little stress Buster technique that I am loving sharing with you. And it starts with the thought of this card that is three different ways to say and hear the words do no harm that you do not do harm. You are not do home and know what harm is. Now on the back of this wonderful little card is my stress relief technique that actually came from the rapid eye technology processes that we use this as a little tiny bit.

How this Stress Busting Technique Works

When you’re feeling anxious, you’re feeling stressed, you’re feeling sad, mad, overwhelmed, whatever the feelings are that stop your mind from thinking because the monkey mind is racing around and the committee is talking and all of these different ideas are flowing into your head. This is a wonderful way to almost instantly stop the chatter. So I’m going to give you step by step how to do this.

Step 1 : Identify The Feeling

The first thing that you do is you identify the feeling. What is it? Is it just you don’t know what to do next? You’re overwhelmed. And now calibrate this on a scale of one to 10 how big is it with 10 being the biggest? So let’s say you’re feeling this, Oh, somebody just cuts you off and you’re angry and you’re stressed and you’re late. And Oh my gosh, it’s like a seven or eight. And it’s affecting your ability to take care of business.

Step 2 : Three Deep Breaths

So you’ve got that part. Now the next part that you’re going to do is you’re going to take three deep breaths. Let’s do this together. So you’re taking in a deep breath in through your nose, ah, and then you’re releasing it through your mouth. It’s okay to make sound. You can ha however you know, if it’s big, let it out. Do this again. Another breath in through your nose, deep down into your belly, breath, and then release it. Ha. And one more.

Step 3 : Blinks

And now you will blink three times. Hide like, okay, you’re pulling up these feelings out of your body. So you’re gonna shut your eyes and open. Shut them open, shut them and open. And I like to think about pulling out by the roots, these feelings, this anger, this frustration, this, Oh my gosh, it’s happening again. It’s never works out.

Step 4 : Side to Side Eye Movements

So you pulled it out and then now you cast your eyes side to side. So as if you’re looking over your right ear over your left here, back and forth, you’re going to go about eight or 10 times, okay? Really quick. And you naturally blink as you’re doing this really quick, really quick.

Step 5 : Deep Breath

And then now take a deep breath again and let it out in through your nose, out through your mouth. Once more.

Yeah, let it go. So now you recalibrate where you’re at again. And you notice even my voice has dropped that. Oh, it feels like it’s about a three hole. That’s pretty cool. So now what you’ve just done is you’ve connected the right and left hemisphere of your brain so you can think with your whole mind and you’ve relaxed yourself. You’ve oxen, jaded, your body and your brain. So it is able to think clearly once more. Now things aren’t as big a deal as they were three minutes ago. This little tool, this little stress relief action you can take. You can do anywhere. You can do it in the grocery line. You can do it sitting at a red light if you need to. You can just take a moment. The kids are all screaming, everything’s going chaotic. Take a moment and do this. It takes less than a minute and it’s a way to restart your day.

Get in touch again with your feelings. Drop down into your heart, into your feelings. Notice what’s going on. Get your firm foundation underneath you. Okay, I’m ready to restart my day.
